How to Get More Unsplash Images through Toursoft
Want access to more free images? Here’s your chance.
Itineraries need images if you want them to sell. Toursoft gives you access to our API key, but this is how to incread your limit with the Unsplash API, which gives you thousands of images to choose from, right at your fingertips. Connect your itinerary building process with all the media you could ever ask for.
Using your own API key in the itinerary builder is important to ensure that you don't exceed the hourly limit of 5,000 requests per hour that the Toursoft API key has. With 1,000 customers using that same default API key, there's a risk of reaching the limit. By adding your own API key, you can avoid this risk and ensure that your agents have access to the images they need for their itineraries without interruption.
1. First things first, you need to make an Unsplash account. Unsplash is where you'll get your images for Toursoft.
2. Confirm your email and log into Unsplash:
3. Then, you will have to request an Unsplash API Key. This key is your personal code to unlock all of your new images. This is at https://api.unsplash.com/. Just click on “Your apps” like so:
4. After that, create a new application and describe your needs:
6. Now, go to API Applications | Unsplash. Here, you can find your Unsplash API Key. This allows you to conect Toursoft (for itinerary building) with Unsplash (for media generation).
7. Select your request. You can use a Demo request to start, but if you need more than 50 images/hour, you'll need to request a production key if you want to increase your limit.
8. Scroll down and find your Keys. Select the “Copy to Clipboard” option.
9. Then, you’ll need to login to Toursoft with your email and password
10. On the left-hand sidebar, select Settings, then Integrations:
11. Scroll down and find “Unsplash API Key”.
12. Paste your API Key into the text box with Ctrl/Command+V, then select “Add API Key”
Congratulations, you can now download 50 Unsplash images/hour through Toursoft to use in your itineraries!
